Gunther's Dik-Dik(Madoqua guentheri)

I am happy to have had the privelegde to see him several times before his passing. It wasn't until he was gone that I learned he was the last Gunther's DikDik in the US
@lintworm From what I know, they didn't get Kirk's dikdik until 2022, after their last Gunther's passed away, I have an older photo from 2013 but the quality isn't as good so it's hard to compare.

This is definitely just a Kirk's. When is this photo from? They already had Kirk's on my first visit in 2021.

I checked my photos and I have photos labeled as Gunther's dik-dik from 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2021, the photo here is from Jan 2021, is it safe to assume that just the 2021 photos are kirk's and the previous ones are Gunther's?

@amur leopard - Yes and no. That media post is just treating the Smith's subspecies of the Gunther's dik-dik (which the American animals were) as a full and separate species, which is not conclusive.
