Admittedly not the best photo (they were very far away), but one I felt was worth posting as it showcases the last three remaining female Indochinese sika females at the park as well as the accidental barasingha x Indochinese sika hybrid that was produced a couple of years ago.
@CarLover - Apparently! It was not suspected that they could (which is why the surplus barasingha male was moved into Central Asia, in theory allowing him to still be on exhibit and not in holding, but preventing him from breeding), but seven and a half months later, this little "barasika" was born -- much to everyone's surprise!
@UngulateNerd92 - It wasn’t intentional. It was not known that these two species could interbreed when the surplus barasingha male was moved into Central Asia from Asian Plains.
