I saw this animal in the Addax/Grévy's zebra paddock. Planckendael does not keep and to my knowledge has never kept Muscovy ducks, so I presume this is an escaped or feral individual. I looked on Waarnemingen.be and feral or escaped Muscovy ducks do occur in Belgium.
Muscovy duck (Cairina moschata domestica) do occur in Mechelen as well. There is a large group outside Tivoli park. I saw these ducks before at the same place in Planckendael so I assume it's feral instead of part of the collection.
