@Osedax We stayed at the Zoofari Lodge and Satara was part of the morning tour, indeed. As you likely know, he was off-display, with Likwezi, Mopani and Jabulani in the main exhibit.
We actually did do the hippo encounter and tried for a tiger encounter, but unfortunately Sakti wouldn't come over, so we didn't get to feed him and got a refund instead.
@Abbey It sounds like they’re delaying Sahara’s integration with Mopani’s seven month old calf. A full integration has usually been achieved within six months between sires and their calves in New Zealand zoos; but when Hamilton brought in an unrelated bull in 2007 (as Dubbo have done), they were much more cautious about introducing him to Caballe’s new calf.
