Golden eagle breeding pair at the Aviario

Harpy eagles are the predatory birds represented in Mayan art,but they are hard to get,so Xcaret displays golden eagles which are not so common in the tropics but are much easier to obtain from Mexican enviromental authorites as confiscated birds. The golden eagles have bred at Xcaret.
