Lake Titicaca Water Frog (Telmatobius culeus)

A recent addition to the 'Amazon Flooded Forest', having replaced the Orinoco altum angels and black ghost knives.

As their namesake suggests, these fully aquatic and adorable frogs originate from the enormous Lake Titicaca that borders the Bolivian and Peruvian Andes. They are famous for possessing highly folded skin to maximise oxygen absorption in the chilly waters.

@Pigeon Yeap! They seem to have acclimatised quite well to the exhibit too. Saw a whole clump of eggs close to the viewing panel.
