@DavidBrown The sloths got moved over to the Rare Animal Conservation Center, and the vampire bats got moved to the former dwarf mongoose exhibit in Carnivore Kingdom, AKA Water Is Life. The meerkats unfortunately passed due to a freak accident, but the zoo's due for a new mob this year. I'm honestly not sure if they'll have them on display indoors (in addition to the Meerkat Maze outside) or plaster the walls, as one of the main issues with the Small Mammal House was its HVAC systems. Especially with COVID, those systems weren't adequate and the enclosures in general weren't conducive to the animals' welfare. Everything else specieswise, I'm not entirely sure.
@senegalparrotlover55555 ...not the varieties in this particular space. It was a temporary exhibit, the issue with the old Small Mammal House was the HVAC system and general aging infrastructure, and this was a problem especially with COVID. The zoo was able to pivot the Rare Animal Conservation Center into a de facto small mammal building, and a good chunk of the prominent species from the old Small Mammal House are still at the zoo (meerkats in an adjoining outdoor space, Hoffmann's two-toed sloths in RACC and vampire bats in Water is Life).
