Sunbeam snake (Xenopeltis unicolor)

Baan Maka Nature Lodge, Phetchaburi. 03-11-2023. Our first Night Walk was a very succesful in both birds and snakes. It was the only time during our trip that we saw a sunbeam snake. A lifer! :)
Congratulations! That is a great snake to find! A unique and beautiful snake, and it's NOT venomous! That's always a plus when you're out at night as far as I'm concerned!
 
Well to the fair, most snakes we found were pitvipers and that never stops me from putting my camera as close as I can.
I've never seen a wild snake react aggressively until they're picked up.

But yes, a great species and not just a new species to me, but a new family as well.
