Anemone tank

An enclosure housing five anemone species and Common Gobies at the Horniman Museum. This is the first tank seen upon entering the Aquarium.
This is so neat! When aquariums first started appearing in the mid-1800s, this was a style often done. I wonder if this is an antique, or a remake? The ikea stool kinda ruins it though :D

It is indeed lovely, and it’s especially nice seeing as it’s the first thing seen upon entering the aquarium - a fitting introduction. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of the tanks from the original aquarium repurposed for the 2006 renovation of today, but it is hard to say exactly how old it is. Certainly the oldest tank in the aquarium at the moment.

@Kalaw That's very nice as a first exhibit! This is the first time I've seen one in recent times. Whether old or new, I love that they've used the style again.
