It's interesting that there's basically zero barriers whatsoever separating the Alpine Ibex from visitors. There's also nothing really stopping people from wandering off the track that runs through the center of the exhibit. I was expecting a little, knee-high fence of some kind, but this is great to see! European zoos always like to push the boundaries.
I suspect that there are occasional visitors who go off track, e.g. small children or disrespectful adults, but in general there is great discipline in Switzerland for respecting rules. I saw violations here and there during my trip, but never actually by locals.
