The Dyke tank has European eel, Pouting, European eelpout, Edible crab and European shore crab. The Harbour tank has European seabass, Thicklip grey mullet, Three-bearded rockling and European shore crab
The aquariums of the sea aquarium all have different themes. The harbour tank (in front) houses European seabass, Thicklip grey mullet and Three-bearded rockling. This is because Mullets and Seabass visit the Harbours of Texels often to spawn, because of the depth of the water and protection of the rigid structures.
The Dyke tank includes European eels, Pouting and European eelpout (an accidental joke), because the rocky Dykes and other sea protectors of the Netherlands create artificial reefs and provide homes for rock-dwelling fish.
Both tanks also include European shore/green crab, and the Dyke tank also has Edible crabs
