@Brayden Delashmutt - I do not know if the takin will return to public display or not at this point. To me, it would make little sense for them not to return eventually, whether it be with the completion of the giant panda construction or at a later date, as the original 1.2 golden takin that were imported from Europe are on permanent quarantine — they cannot ever leave the zoo even if the zoo decided to phase out all of the rest of their other takin herds for whatever reason.
@Brayden Delashmutt - Any of the calves born to the original 1.2 are able to be moved between facilities like any other zoo animal. Bovid import regulations only require the originally imported animals to be on permanent quarantine. That said, the golden takin (as well as the mishmi takin maintained behind-the-scenes) are all owned by a private facility, so if the offspring ever did leave, they would likely just go to the facility that owns them.
