Thank you. Only at Bird Paradise so far, outside Philippines. There are 6+ birds in exhibit during my last visit.

It's great to hear that they have multiple birds! It sounds like they may be trying to establish a satellite breeding group.

@Summer Tanager the doves are breeding very well here. From the original 3 pairs that arrived from the Philippines in 2021, there are now over 25 doves at Mandai.

@Zooish Thank you Zooish for that fantastic news! That program is off to a roaring success and I believe that the Negros Bleeding-Heart Dove is one of the rarest of the five bleeding-heart dove species! I'm glad to see an insurance population starting in captivity.

@Zooish I didn't know the doves were breeding that well here! I believe there were only 2 on display when I visited. What a growth in the captive population for such an endangered species! I hope to see them on my visit in a couple weeks!

How does one even get such a shot like this when it's pretty difficult to photograph these fellas. This is genuinely such a lovely photo

I hope they expand this species to Europe one day, e.g. to Walsrode.
Would be great to see them in other zoos!
