Cranes and storks are some of my very favourite birds - seeing the wild ones at Slimbridge after the success of the Great Crane project etc is awesome every time - one of a pair seen together on my visit, one single ringed and one with no rings.
@Pertinax on the land side of the Hogarth hide - I was further down the path and just saw a glimpse of something large fly in from over the back to the brink area (I’ve seen them there before too and they’ve hatched chicks there though I missed them) thought it might be heron, rushed round and boom there they were.

@Lafone Lucky! I've seen them far out on the marshes by the river, and the pair that nested in the Rushy Pen. But none on my last (recent) visit.
