@Cat-Man Having seen these in person, while I would love to see more Asia Trail style exhibitry throughout the rest of the zoo, the fact that there are living plants that the gorillas can access is genuinely commendable. I do agree about the Ape House - that needs a drastic overhaul.
@StoppableSan Would agree here, plenty of natural substrate which is nice but very limited climbing opportunities. Not sure the NZ needs more Asia trail style developments, but just doing the basics very well and not worrying too much about "immersion" suits the zoos style and its strengths. When I visited in 2019 I was impressed by the really unique atmosphere of the place.
