There's a certain brand of aquariums popping up in the US. Basically aquariums for kids and families where you get charged up the wazoo for interacting with them, often kept in substandard exhibits.
@DelacoursLangur good call, I would guess maybe they had the smooth fronted caiman in there after they moved it when the penguins took it's space? @snowleopard , do you remember that exhibit when you went?
@SwampDonkey I remember the Smooth-fronted Caiman exhibit (that's now home to African Penguins) but not this Capybara enclosure. Some kind of crocodilian preceding the rodent makes sense.
Actually, while the Green Iguana was still driving its boat 9 years ago , it's possible to see what appears to be a low glass barrier (touch tank?) in the background. This aquarium didn't have lemurs and capybaras back when I visited in 2015.
