@Zoo-Lover-1-2-3 I didn't have an opportunity to speak to any staff, and those that were in attendance looked quite busy. Whilst Japanese people are the kindest and most helpful, it can't be guaranteed that they speak much English. I did have a long chat with a senior keeper at the Asa zoo in Hiroshima though, which was very enlightening.
@Zoo-Lover-1-2-3 In any case, the design is quite antiquated and I do know that Inokashira plans to specialise in Japanese species - much needed. I noticed on the merchandising at Ueno that Inokashira and Tama are both featured, and until then I wasn't aware they were operated centrally. Would be great to see Amami rabbits there some day.
