Sulcata Tortoise, “Sudanese” Variant (Centrochelys sulcata)

A highly overlooked member of the zoo’s tortoise collection, likely due to Sulcatas being ubiquitous in most zoos & private facilities.

Distinguishable from most typical sulcatas, with a much more robust build, ‘polkadot’-like ridges located at the centre of each carapace scute and thicker, more elongated keels across the front limbs.
