@Dr. Loxodonta behind the scenes experience.
One of the better shots; the room wasn't completely dark but it was shady. There was a light to turn on [as here] but of course not for very long.
The experience was nice; after feeding him worms it consisted of him being taken for weighing; and in the meanwhile rejuvenating his nest box with leaves; raking the soil to make it soft as he likes it, etc.
He is kept in a box in a shed during the day but at night has access to a sizable run of several aviaries.

I recall how I used to [and still do!] admire people online who were able to get stellar shots of rarer animals ..... now I wonder if I have morphed into that myself!
I do look at this picture and think to myself.... damn.... I took that !!
