Small Indian Mongoose Enclosure at London, 22nd June 2024

I'm not sure if the mongooses have access outside beyond the caged area.
 
@dillotest0 Oh, it's definitely the eventual intention for them to have full access, but the animals are still very shy and I get the impression they're using the caged area to get them used to coming outside.
 
@dillotest0 this enclosure was designed for Dwarf Mongooses who very much had access to the entire space and made very good use of it, although since they moved elsewhere in the zoo (near the Roundhouse) the Small Indian Mongooses (which I am yet to see in three visits since their arrival, so am very much envious of you, @Maguari !) have been very shy, so much so that a barrier has been put in place stopping visitors from coming up to the glass in their indoor area. Letting them out into an outdoor exhibit with large crowds of visitors on one side and lions on the other this early probably wouldn’t be the best idea...
