From my knowledge they currently only hold one baird’s tapir named Millie at the zoo because they are fazing them out of Franklin Park Zoo as Franklin Park is African, Asian, and Australian animals only while Stone Zoo is North and South American animals only. Am I correct?
I’m pretty sure that I read it somewhere on zoo chat but it might not be true but again why would they be holding a female tapir alone unless they were fazing out the species?
@Zoo-Lover-1-2-3 Well I can tell you Stone has more than North and South American animals. They have an entire exhibit complex dedicated to the Himalayas.
