The geese were transferred to the Zoo from Jurong Bird Park and now occupy the former Black-backed Jackal exhibit at the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia exhibit. The jackals have been phased out.
@Zooish why were the jackals phased out in the first place? I was quite disappointed by the phasing out of black backed jackals, banded mongoose and saddle billed storks. I wish they are put on on display again.
@Chapman'szebra i suppose the captive population of Black-backed Jackals is not sustainable, with too few holders. Banded Mongoose are back in Mandai's collection but only appear during one of the shows at the Zoo. The Saddle-billed Storks have been moved to Bird Paradise.
