Jacksonville Zoo 2018 - YouTube

A spoontacular visit to the zoo!!! Now remastered and better than ever! Filmed on 12-30-18.
Thank you for posting this video and the African Rift Valley Aviary looks awesome! I counted at least nine African Spoonbills in one frame, so they must have a healthy colony, and I enjoyed hearing their "honking." I'm happy to see Abdim's Stork, Yellow-billed Stork, and Hamerkop in the aviary too. Is there another aviary at the zoo with South American wading birds? I know that the Jacksonville Zoo also has Roseate Spoonbills, Black-faced Ibis, Scarlet Ibis, and several South American waterfowl species. Although I've never visited this zoo, I like it and need to add it to my to do list! It looks like the aviary has a lot of Clerodendron bungei growing in it - a good tough plant for the southern U.S.

@Summer Tanager Yeah the zoo is probably the best zoos in the US to see African Spoonbills and the best one on the east coast. Indeed 2018 was a big year for the zoo's colony as there were many in the aviary. The South American birds are in in the Emerald Forest Aviary in the Range of the Jaguar area. Glad to know about that plant, it looks cool!
