The boat ride must have opened in 2006 with the redesign of a few of the "Islands" habitats. Columbus Zoo has changed so much in the past 10 years that it's difficult to keep track of all the alterations, and with the Polar Frontier and African Savanna opening in the next few years that zoo has just about completely renovated itself since the early 1990's.
