@birdsandbats What other wildlife can be found inside the zoo? I will be visiting later this month and I wanted to do a little stop by this zoo before I head to Boston. I only have an hour or two to spare so I thought I would just go ahead and see the wolverines so that I can live up to my username!
@Dr. Wolverine The zoo is located in a huge woods and there's actually tons of wildlife, especially birds. But notably, I'd look for American Red Squirrel and Common Snapping Turtle.
Also, how will this zoo be on your way to Boston? Where are you coming from?
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I will be going to Boston for two weeks, and I will first take a flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis. I have a couple hours to spare at the airport, so I thought I could go down to the zoo before my flight.
Also, the only areas of the Zoo I am devoted to are the Minnesota trail and Tropics trail, so I was wondering which area of the zoo is the best hotspot for local wildlife. I'm happy with anything but some wildlife that I am particularly interested in are Ruby-throated hummingbirds, Bald Eagles, Wild Turkeys, Turkey Vulture, Green Heron, and waterfowl such as Trumpeter Swan, Wood Duck, and Hooded Merganser.
@Dr. Wolverine The Minnesota and Tropics Trails are mostly indoors, so you will see very little wildlife. There are some bird feeders visible from the Minnesota Trail, so you might see something there. Wild Turkey is likely. A stop at the big lake right near the entrance can probably get you Trumpeter Swan.
