Hamilton Zoo’s Old Reptile House, now used as a staff building. The front exhibit held Tuatara for many years, then Australian water dragon. It is currently under redevelopment.
@Zoofan15 The thought of Australian water dragon being a zoo exhibit is a little funny to me, considering how many wild ones are free-ranging at Taronga, but makes sense why they would be a good display animal (albeit formerly).
@Abbey I saw them free-ranging at Melbourne too; and saw dozens of hatchlings at a wildlife park in Queensland. It was certainly a very low-key replacement for Tuatara imo. I’ll be interested to see what they put in here long term.
I remember going here when it was still a reptile house, the only animals I remember (aside from Tuatara) are Eastern Blue-Tongue Skinks and Madagascan Giant Day-Geckos
