Lufengosaurus huenei, Holotype (IVPP V15)

Fossil Reptile and Bird Hall, Second Floor, August 21, 2024.
Holotype of Lufengosaurus huenei (IVPP V15), a massospondylid dinosaur which lived during the Early Jurassic period in what is now Yunnan, China. Consisting of a nearly complete skeleton with a well-preserved skull, the specimen is historically important both as the first dinosaur named by a Chinese paleontologist (Mr. Yang Zhongjian, or C. C. Young) and as the first dinosaur ever mounted in China (1941, in Chongqing).
