This is either a Nilgiri tahr (Nilgiritragus hylocrius) or a Himalayan tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus). I\'m hoping it\'s the former. Any help on the id? This was taken from the monorail.

I think @Giant Eland is correct in that these are Himalayan tahr in their summer coats. The Nilgiri tahr at the Park currently look very different. The females are a grizzled, taupey-grey color, with entirely pale legs and faces, and the males have very distinct black facial and saddle markings, with white patches on their legs. Their hair is also not that shaggy/they do not have that fluffy undercoat.
Trust me @Ituri I would LOVE if that were the case. It was actually because of this photo (and originally thinking I already had seen Nilgiri Tahr) that I didn't pursue the species more aggressively while I still could've at Cape May or Minnesota.
Now I'll just have to see where I end up first: California or India!
