Do you recall the species of birds here? It looks like the first cage on the right holds a pair of bird-of-paradise (either Red, Lesser, or Ragianna), and the second holds a trio of Violet Turacos.
@Summer Tanager I have fairly comprehensive species lists for mammals, reptiles and amphibians, but not for birds or fish. @twilighter and I closed down this zoo, as for part of our visit a staff member followed us from room to room, turning off lights and locking doors behind us. Therefore, as the zoo was about to close at 6:00 p.m., when we came to this Bird Hallway it was one of the last sections of the zoo and we didn't have time to linger. This privately-owned facility is JAMMED with animals and to be honest we saw Lesser Birds of Paradise on almost a daily basis in Southeast Asia. They are common species over there. Elsewhere, they are amazing to find in a zoo, but in SEA there were some zoos that had two or three aviaries of them.
Wow! I didn't realize that you were rushed for time - you did an excellent job documenting this zoo with the limited time that you had. That's fascinating to me that several SE Asian zoos had Lesser Bird-of-Paradise! The optimist in my hopes that they are breeding them, but the pessimist in me thinks they're just importing them from the Indonesian side of the island. I don't know much about this species or it's homeland, but my understanding is that it's one of the more common bird-of-paradise and distributed across the northern half of New Guinea. Thanks for the follow-up information!
