I've been to Prague Zoo four times now. First time was 2013, last time 2023. Each time I visit, new enclosures/pavillions/exhibits have been build.
Are there any zoos that see this much development in such a short time?
Now, I need to go back again to see the Gobi area. This enclosure looks so cool. Most wild horse enclosures are just a grassy or sandy paddock.
Gobi is indeed excellent. The theming (which is not too obtrusive and linked more to conservation), and the many very rare small mammals and reptiles in the adjacent room only add to it. A fantastic new addition to Prague.
I also agree that the rate of development at Prague is quite astonishing. I wonder how long until Arktida (new Polar Bear enclosure) is finished, and also what project will come after that. Because based on the sheer amount of recent additions there definitely will be a project.
