Is this an open exhibit? Do you know if it will eventually be enclosed? It seems odd to build a new Flamingo exhibit in the year 2024 with pinioned birds.
Thank you for posting these photos! I was at the Denver Zoo for the first time on August 26th and they had not yet moved any of the Caribbean Flamingos over to the side where the Chileans are kept. The "flamingo mingle" side of the exhibit house 13 Caribbean and 6 or 7 Chilean Flamingos that day, and it looked like this side contained 51 Chilean Flamingos (give or take a few) with no Caribbeans. I never saw the previous flamingo exhibit (it looks like it was a large pond surrounded by the train) so I can't really compare the two. I'm not thrilled by the size of this exhibit, but it does have a pond with a nice size and depth, and I do like the nesting island.
