Even if I leave out discussing the fact that penguins do not live at Yukon Bay (which is in the Canada in the Northern Hemisphere) I can't say that I like this exhibit, especially as it is a new one and was hardly cheap. Naturalistic it is not at least!
I'm afraid I really, really don't like it. The complex is impressive enough without sticking in species which don't fit with the theme. Zoos should strive to educate people and break down false preconceptions. How many visitors will walk away still thinking that polar bears and penguins live together?
