@Mr Gharial I certainly have never heard of anywhere else keeping this species, so I do think it is extremely rare. On looking further, this species is also found in Java and a couple of other Indonesian islands, so getting hold of them would, I imagine, be easier than getting an actual Christmas Island endemic.
