Sitatunga enclosure

This is a very nice looking mixed-species exhibit! In my way of thinking, you can't go wrong with Sitatunga!

@Summer Tanager It indeed looks lovely, but I don't like to see all those pinioned birds that are just decoration in a setup like this.

@lintworm That's a good point! I'm still used to seeing pinioned cranes and hornbills, so sadly I realize that I'm a little desensitized to it.

@Summer Tanager It used to be the standard around 20 years ago here too, but I think by now the only birds in savannah enclosures in the Netherlands are guineafowl and ostriches. But during my childhood, most (if not all) savannah exhibits had marabou and/or crowned cranes too... The practice is also on its way out in many other Western European countries and outside France I haven't seen so many pinioned birds in hoofstock exhibits in a long long time.
