They have zero hiding space.. I have been to Hannover serveral times and I am every time again shocked to see it. It`s a terrible ape enclosure, no hiding space, hardly any climbing opportunity, the apes are looking on concrete walls all day and can`t see what`s happening around them, and on top of all a very dangerous, steep water moat in which already a silverback has died.
It could easily be improved with planting and more climbing equipment and shelter areas. If they could take away the watermoat that would make me happier too...
Its a bit strange to me how they put in the expensive waterfall, which looks nice (that's the reason obviously) but is useless to the animals, but have left out climbing equipment etc. It wouldn't take that much to improve this exhibit hugely.
