Coconut Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus)

This is a very good photo! I think that this lorikeet is either a Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus) or a Sunset Lorikeet (Trichoglossus forsteni). Coconut Lorikeets have a green belly (or at least the great majority of them do), while the Rainbow Lorikeet and Sunset Lorikeet have purplish-blue belly like this one has. Sunset Lorikeets are endangered and very rare in captivity, but they have a pronounced yellow collar like this one has. If any zoo could obtain Sunset Lorikeets, I think it would be Miami!

@RatioTile Maybe it's just a Rainbow Lorikeet and my Sunset Lorikeet hypothesis was just wishful thinking on my part! I haven't seen enough Sunset Lorikeets to confidently distinguish them from Rainbows. The Psittacine TAG report for 2020-2025 lists 28 Sunset Lorikeets in the regional plan in 2019, but I don't know in which facilities they're held (but I'm hoping one of them is Zoo Miami!).
Thanks!
