Great shot! Is he a new addition? I didn't see him last time when I was there in July. The only hornbills they had were 0.1 Rhinoceros, 0.1 White Crown and 1.1 Great Hornbill, although the exhibit next to the female WC was "under maintenance."
Yes, I think it's a new addition. This part of the aviary was closed when I came in April, and the place looks new. They now have 4 enclosures for hornbills with the following:
Wrinkled Hornbill (1,0,0)
White Crown Hornbill (0,0,1)
Rhinoceros Hornbill (0,0,2)
Great Hornbill (0,0,2)
I couldn't distinguish the gender difference for hornbills unless it's really obvious like the wrinkled.
The enclosure is relative large, has a lot of vegatation, and 2/3 of the guest side is blocked by facilities, making it extremely difficult to take a good photo. I spent about an hour here to wait for this guy to come to the right position.
@Toki Distinguishing sexes for the other three are actually quite simple. For the Greats and Rhinos, the male has a red eye whilst the female's eyes are white/blue. For the White Crowns, females have black heads and throats whilst males have white heads and throats.
