White-striped Dorcopsis

August 19, 2024
This is the real dorcopsis :D

Cisarua is possibly the only known facility to held this genus in Java, though its somewhat sad that they didn't give a lot of attention to this rare species that they barely even give a signage of them.

We now have confirmation. ;) The snout on this animal is a tad longer than the Dusky Pademelon's nose.

Congratulations!

But is it really a White-Striped Dorcopsis? Or the common Brown Dorcopsis found in some European zoos.

@Elias the picture didn't show the entire body of the animal, but they do have this species. I think it was reported that they have dorcopsis muelleri, might probably need to look more into that.

This is indeed an brown dorcopsis (Dorcopsis muelleri), apparently had been miss-ID as D. hageni in the past. My bad.
