@Mr Gharial I agree it’s a nice exhibit. It opened in 2004 and replaced the cage block in the upper end of the zoo as the Serval’s habitat. My memories of the cage block are vague, being a child at the time; but I recall the otherwise antiquated cages having a series of elevated ramps for the Servals to walk along, so they did what they could for them in terms of creating an enriching environment. There was a minimum of two cages (possibly three) as at one stage they were managing a mother and her new kitten; the male; and the other female - who I don’t believe was held with the male full time.
