Lar gibbon enclosure in the Primates of Asia complex. Hongshan is one of the few institutions in the world which hold all four genus of gibbons (lar gibbon, red-cheeked gibbon, northern white-cheeked gibbon, eastern hoolock gibbon and siamang), a title shared with Shanghai Zoo and Gibbon Conservation Center in Santa Clarita. All gibbon species in Nanjing have bred successfully in recent years.
