Collared Sunbird

(Hedydipna collaris) Kakum National Park, Ghana
Wow! What a stunning set of photos, which are very nicely done, might I add!

Also, was this trip to Ghana your first ever experience in Africa altogether?!

Thank you for the kind words! I do appreciate it.

Actually no, this is my second time on the continent, but my first time in West Africa. I visited Kenya & Tanzania for 18 days last year.

I would say the visa process was more tedious than difficult. There is an online portal to fill out your forms but there are a few things to note. You needed two references or a hotel contact for your visa. I traveled with Ashanti Tour company, so I was covered there. Additionally, you needed to state how much disposable income I had available for the trip (I was advised to say at least $400 per day of trip). Besides that, the online portion of the visa was standard information needed for a visa.

The biggest thing was I had to mail the visa application & passport to DC, to the Ghana embassy, to get my visa. Always nerve wracking to mail your passport. I sent mine three months before my trip, and got it about 3 weeks later.
