The bear aren't exactly brand new. There was an sun bear that was performing for the former Variety Animal show in the 2000's-early 2010's until the specific show was phased out.
Faunaland hold an sun bear off-display for a while, which might had been moved to Samudra Ancol. From posts I've seen, the sun bear there appears to be old, so I guess it should be the same individual from a long time ago.
