Some species (Sulawesi hornbill, Indochinese box turtle, etc.) were a brand new species never seen before the revitalization, along with others in all three facilities. It's impresive how TMII (Jagat Satwa Nusantara) were not only able to improve their infrastructures and reformed their managements, but also to introduce brand new species as both attractions and for conservational purposes.
@Rizz Carlton It's very impressive to see the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah facilities revitalized. The Bird Park has at least 4 hornbill species, including Sulawesi Hornbills, but it appears that this photo is of a Palm Cockatoo aviary.
@snowleopard damn, I didn't notice that. Since you stated that, I only noticed the cockatoo's Crest in the far upper left which in my defense wasn't that particularly visible. You beat me this time
@snowleopard that seems to be a decrease in the number of hornbill. There were 7 species (Plus one Mindanao rufous hornbill in the bird show) during my last visit, very unfortunate if thats true right now.
@Rizz Carlton When I said "at least 4 hornbill species" I should have first gone through my photos of signs again. I saw 6 species during my visit: Wreathed, Wrinkled, Oriental Pied, Black, Rhinoceros and Knobbed.
