This bear, a thirty-year-old male named Zé Colmeia, passed away on October. Since its passing, only three Brazilian zoos (Pomerode, Zoo São Braz and Goiânia) hold brown bears. There are no prospects of breeding, unless any of the remaining animals are moved.
