Greater flamingo -Zoo de Santillana del Mar (2024)

@Summer Tanager Greater flamingoes are a relatively recent inclusion to the zoo but it's the flamingo species they breed with the most frequency. Back in the day, Cuban and Chilean flamingoes were the species they mainly bred but their groups are now reduced to a few individuals and it seems like they don't intend to breed them more.
Lesser flamingoes breed from time to time and have ended up with a really nice flock. Santillana was the first Spanish zoo to successfully breed lesser flamingoes!
