@Hvedekorn The species listed on the wall used to be outdated, for example, Zosterops maderaspatanus is no longer kept there or any other zoo. During my visit this year they also had replaced the Merops bullockoides with Merops albicollis, did they change back again? I’m also not sure if the kingfisher is still alive?
Okay, thanks for noting. I hope people will get by my date marking that the species lists I provide are from my date of visit, though of course that means it should be taken a grain of salt now that I post them in November.
In July, there were white-eyes, but I must admit I had no clue about the species. The bee-eaters were definitely white-fronted ones back in July. I never saw the kingfisher despite stubbornly looking, so it could've been gone.
@Hvedekorn I actually visited a month before you or so, and I’m happy to hear that they actually have the white-fronted bee-eaters again! The white-eyes on the other hand, do you have any photos of them? It would be amazing if they received new Malagasy ones after my visit as they have been gone for some year/years now, but it might also be another more common similar species? If they have Malagasy white-eye again I definitely want to return!
Just checked, and I don't have a clear photo of the white-eyes, only one where one is a blur in the background. However, I have a somewhat better photo of the ones from the nearby Helsingborg Djurpark, and the ones at Tropikariet seemed to be the same species (maybe they have exchanged birds?):
