The lions in Ragunan are assigned as the masai lion (Panthera leo massaica) for a long time. This is different from other Indonesian zoos, as they are either the nubica subspecies or the white krugeri.
@Rizz Carlton It's interesting that you say that because @twilighter told me the same thing when we were looking down at the Lion in this exhibit and he was quite excited that perhaps we were seeing an unusual subspecies.
