@SwampDonkey I'm excited to hear your review of this one The aquarium was one of the larger facilities in South Carolina I could of visited but passed on. Based on other members opinions of it, it doesn't seem I missed much but would love to know what non-fish species they keep at the moment in case I visit Charleston again this winter.
@SusScrofa I hope to get to it today, but to briefly answer from my memory (I don't do species notes):
Bald eagle
Rosette spoonbill
North American river otter
Eastern copperhead
Canebrake rattlesnake
Indigo snake
American alligator
Red-eared slider
American Bullfrog
Eastern mud turtle
Green sea turtle
Loggerhead sea turtle
Listing the birds can be difficult as the graphic in the Saltmarsh aviary/exhibit showed various birds that live in the wild saltmarsh, not necessarily in the aquarium. I only saw spoonbills (2) in that exhibit.
@SwampDonkey Thanks! Not too large or interesting of a collection imo. From old images in the gallery there used to be a Madagscar exhibit similar to Florida Aquarium.
@SusScrofa there was an area between the kids play area and Saltmarsh that was under construction, closed in by plywood walls. Perhaps that is where it was located.
