Nice, can't wait to make it back to Houston to see Birds of the World! I know they recalled a flock of Scarlett Ibis that were on loan to the Mississippi Aquarium, I wonder if these guys are the ones.
@RandomConservationist oh wow I didn't even know about the Mississippi Aquarium connection.
The Africa savanna aviary is definitely my personal favorite. Were supposed to get plenty of more birds in Africa and North American aviaries. I just wished the Africa one was a little bigger with more water. The Hammerkops are done building their nest and they were a crowd favorite the first two weeks of opening because people were watching them build their nest.
@RandomConservationist search "birds of the world information" on zoochat with more info on exhibit (which includes a species list). Were still waiting on 8 or 9 species to be added to the Africa aviary and plenty more to NA. Personally I wish they would have not built the North America aviary and built a Europe or Papua New Guinea aviary instead, but of course that wouldn't really go along with the zoos conservation message as they haven't really done much field work that I know of in those parts of the world. How the BOTW area is at this moment I give it a 6.5-7/10. Our current CEO is going to retire next year so we just have to wait and see what the future is heading toward.
