Columbus Zoo - Heart of Africa, ostriches

I really don't get it. Does anyone know why the ostriches were moved off the savannah and into their own habitat?

@Jonathan - When the Zoo did away with their camel rides, they suddenly had two empty exhibits to fill. Ostriches have very similar spatial requirements as camels and can be managed in a similar way. The ostriches also already used the camel barn during the winters. Already being in the collection and requiring little renovations to the exhibit made them a cheap and easy replacement.

I think Columbus should seriously consider adding rhinos to HoA. They're such a basic zoo animal that Columbus has and HoA has tons of space. Even this camel area could be part of it

Ideally, I'd include black rhinos since The Wilds has white rhinos already

@Kudu21 I know you already told me why the ostriches were moved but I'm still trying to see the point of it tbh if you get what I'm saying. Not trying to start an argument but just wanted to say what I said
